1. Who we are
AsokeLegal (“AsokeLegal”, “we”, “us”) is a legal services company registered in Thailand, with offices at 92 Sukhumvit Soi 18, Khwaeng Khlong Toei, Khlong Toei, Bangkok 10110, Thailand. We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website and in the course of providing our services, and we process personal data in accordance with Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019) (“PDPA”).
2. What data we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Contact details — name, email address, phone/WhatsApp number, nationality, and country of residence submitted through our forms.
- Case information — information you provide about your employment, income range, intended stay, and application timeline so we can assess your eligibility.
- Engagement documents — if you become a client, documents required for your legal matter, which may include passport copies, financial statements, employment contracts, and similar records.
- Technical data — basic analytics about site usage (pages viewed, approximate location, device type) collected via our analytics providers.
3. How we use your data
- To respond to your enquiry and assess your eligibility for the services you requested.
- To provide legal services you engage us for, including preparing and filing applications.
- To communicate with you about your case via email, phone, or WhatsApp.
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations as a Thai legal services provider.
- To improve our website and services using aggregated, non-identifying analytics.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your case documents for marketing.
4. Legal bases
We process your data on the following bases under the PDPA: your consent (which you may withdraw at any time), performance of a contract with you, compliance with our legal obligations, and our legitimate interests in operating and improving our services.
5. How we store and protect your data
Enquiry data is transmitted to our team by email through reputable transactional email providers. Client documents are stored with access restricted to the team members working on your matter. We retain enquiry data for up to 12 months if you do not become a client, and client files for the period required by Thai law and professional practice, after which they are securely deleted.
6. Sharing your data
We share personal data only when necessary to provide our services:
- With Thai government authorities, embassies, and consulates as required to file your application — this is the core purpose of our engagement.
- With service providers that help us operate (email delivery, website hosting, analytics), bound by their own confidentiality obligations.
- Where required by law, court order, or regulatory authority.
7. Your rights
Under the PDPA you have the right to:
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data, subject to our legal retention obligations.
- Withdraw consent to processing based on consent.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Lodge a complaint with Thailand's Personal Data Protection Committee.
